| Depart promptly at 10:00 from the McDonalds 595 Eads Prkwy, Greendale, IN 47025. Backroads ride is 59 miles and almost 2 hrs with no facilities for bio breaks during the tour - hence the new meeting place of McD�s to make sure everyone�s bio gage is reading Empty. First bathroom is gas station in Rising Sun or the lunch place which is another 200� past the gas station.
Other caveat is downtown Rising Sun is having a Blues and BBQ festival same day and main streets are closed eliminating access to public parking, restrooms, food, etc. so new lunch place is Rockies Bar and Grill by the golf course and on the same road as the new ferry to Rabbit Hash. Tom and I ate at Rockies and the food is excellent and there is a large food selection including salads. Indiana however does not have a restaurant ban on smoking but there were only a couple of people smoking at the bar while we were there and no one smoking at the tables. We ate at the bar and really didn�t notice the smoke. The new ferry to Rabbit Hash is very nice and is free for the month of June. The Miata had plenty of clearance getting on and off the ferry. Drive through Dearborn and Ripley Counties with a lunch stop in Rising Sun. After lunch - sightseeing in Rising Sun, then return to Lawrenceburg on Routes 56 and 50 or take the new ferry to Rabbit Hash, KY. | |
